I have eczema and/or psoriasis. Can I still spray tan?
Often, yes, depending on the condition of your skin. Tell Jaimie before booking; Top Notch Beauty requires a signed waiver before treatment. We do not tan over open, broken, or actively irritated skin. If you are having a flare-up or are unsure, check with your dermatologist first.
Will spray tanning stain my bed sheets, clothes, or dress?
A small amount of cosmetic bronzer may rub onto clothing or bedding during the first few days, especially before your first rinse. Much of the bronzer rinses away, but transfer can still happen and staining is possible. Wear loose, dark clothes and take extra care with light fabrics.
How far in advance should I schedule my spray tan before an event?
Top Notch Beauty recommends getting your tan 2–3 days before your event. Share your event date when booking so we can plan your appointment and rinse timing.
How soon after my spray tanning session can I work out?
Please wait 16–24 hours after your session, and rinse before working out to wash away remaining cosmetic bronzer. Follow the exact first-rinse time Jaimie gives you for your solution; the workout waiting period does not replace it.
Will I look orange after I get spray tanned?
Our goal is a natural-looking glow. We use Dolce Glow solution and match your tone and depth to your skin. Correct preparation, application, and rinse timing all help you get the intended color; individual results can vary.
How long will my spray tan last?
Most clients notice fading after about 4–7 days. In some cases, color can last up to 14 days, depending on your skin and aftercare. Moisturize at least daily once you resume your routine, stay hydrated, and avoid abrasive exfoliation while preserving your tan. Longevity varies.
How do I know what spray tan color to choose?
At Top Notch Beauty, we help match the solution, tone, and depth to your skin and goals on the day of your appointment. Tell Jaimie about your event, preferred look, and any previous tan results.
What do I do if I have streaks after showering?
Try another gentle, thorough rinse with lukewarm water and your hands to remove any remaining cosmetic bronzer. If streaks remain, text Jaimie for guidance before scrubbing or trying a remover. Removers can strip the developed color and irritate skin.
Time to rinse—what do I do?
At the rinse time Jaimie gives you, rinse slowly and thoroughly with lukewarm water. Use only your hands to gently remove bronzer, paying attention to your legs and behind your arms. Leftover bronzer can cause streaks. Follow your solution-specific instructions for cleanser and later showers.
What do I need to do prior to my spray tan?
Gently exfoliate about 24 hours before with a basic loofah or washcloth; avoid heavy exfoliating oils. Shave 24–48 hours before, since last-minute shaving and residue from razor moisturizing strips can contribute to uneven color. Have manicures, pedicures, and waxing done beforehand, allowing freshly waxed skin time to settle. Do not shower within one hour of your appointment. Avoid oils and perfume; a lightweight, non-greasy, non-oily moisturizer is okay if applied at least one hour before. Keep moisturizing daily leading up to your visit. Bring loose-fitting, dark clothes for afterward.
What do I wear to my spray tanning session?
To the appointment: Loose-fitting, dark clothes and easy sandals.
During the tan: Bra and underwear, swimwear, or nude—whatever you are most comfortable with.
Can I spray tan if I’m pregnant?
Please consult your physician before booking and let Jaimie know you are pregnant. Research on sunless tanning during pregnancy is limited, and the effects of inhaling spray tanning mist during pregnancy are not well understood. We cannot guarantee that spray tanning is safe during pregnancy.
Can my teenager spray tan?
Yes, but a parent’s consent is required.
Can I spray tan if I just got a tattoo?
Only if the tattooed area is completely healed. Let Jaimie know about your new tattoo before booking.
Can I spray tan if I just had surgery?
Not until you are completely healed. We do not spray tan over open or healing wounds. Check with your surgeon before booking, and let Jaimie know about your recent surgery.
Which tan should I book?
Choose the classic Top Notch Tan when an overnight rinse works for you. Choose Rapid when you want to rinse sooner or need more control over the depth.
I have never had a spray tan. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Jaimie will walk you through prep, color selection, rinse timing, and aftercare before you leave.
What should I mention at booking?
Share any recent skincare treatments, retinol use, allergies, or special event timing so your services can be scheduled correctly.
